One of the key drivers of the ASEAN Summit is optimizing the role of the ocean within the region with the Blue Economy concept. Currently, the oceans can generate a projected value of US$ 2.5 trillion dollars. With optimal utilization, marine and coastal resources can reach a market value of US$ 3 trillion dollars per year. The Blue Economy Declaration was adopted in the 38th ASEAN Summit in 2021, with the goal of sustainable and inclusive use of the sea and water resources. 2023’s ASEAN Summit has refocused the Blue Economy Framework into one of the top priorities in the economic field.

As an obligation of PII organization annually, in conjunction with CAFEO 41, PII will also conduct RAPIMNAS (Rapat Pimpinan Nasional) Tahun 2023. The event will be attended by all chapters and branches of the PII organization and all organization elements. RAPIMNAS PII is a national meeting held by PII (Persatuan Insinyur Indonesia). It is an important event that brings together leaders and representatives from various engineering disciplines across Indonesia.

The Institution of Engineers Indonesia (PII) organizes the Engineering Business Summit 2023 concurrently with CAFEO 41. This summit serves as a platform to recognize and capitalize on the economic opportunities present in the ocean resources of ASEAN's 25,000 islands (blue economy) and the substantial potential for decarbonization and green initiatives (green economy).
